Good hospitality

Svenska Kulturpärlor is owned and operated by the Åström family. A family that has worked for tourism and hospitality in Sörmland since the early 1980s. Today Fredrik Åström is CEO of Svenska Kulturpärlor - a company with three pearls; Dufweholms Herrgård outside Katrineholm, Gripsholms Värdshus in Mariefred and Södertuna Slott outside Gnesta.

In recent years, Dufweholms Bed & Breakfast and Gripsholms Bed & Breakfast have also been added to these.

Historical gems in Sörmland

In the early 1980s, the Åström family - more specifically Fredrik's father and mother, Göran and Emmy Åström - took over the Plevnagården guest house in Malmköping, which was originally a disused old military hospital. Plevnagården was transformed into a hotel and conference facility that regained its former glory, among other things, by carrying out the largest house move of its time. Göran had Greta Garbo's green summer house moved there, which not only gave extra room to Plevnagården, but also set in motion the house gathering that still characterizes the family today.

Today Johanna Battaroff and Fredrik Åström run Svenska Kulturpärlor. They are passionate about historical things and places and Fredrik has had a great interest in historical collections since he was a child. This interest is reflected in all the pearls, where you are met by historical charm and beautiful things.
